Eastham to front wrapper with his pencil notations throughout. "Advance copies received 6 Nov 1947" pencilled on verso of front wrapper in Eastham's hand. good to very good… J.W. Eastham's personal working review copy, with his pencilled annotations and corrections throughout the text. Also laid in are an index card with corrections in Eastham's hand and a newspaper review of the book dated also in Eastham's hand. An interesting author's review copy of this flora of British Columbia, which must have been a later proof, as the corrections are not extensive. J.W. Eastham was an influential British Columbia botanist and a cofounder of the University of British Columbia's Department of Botany. Eastham also served as Provincial Plant Pathologist in BC and amassed one of the largest collections of pressed plants and fungi in the province, which are now housed at the University of British Columbia herbarium.
