Unique édition de ce récit des étapes de la libération de Paris. Le frontispice est important par un détail qui n'a été souligné que récemment : il s'agit du fameux cliché où l'on voit un sous-officier français "inviter" Georges Dukson (1923-1944), sergent noir de l'armée française, à quitter le cortège, où se tenaient le général Charles de Gaulle, Georges Bidault et Alexandre Parodi. Dukson a joué un rôle dans la libération de Paris : il avait participé aux combats de l?insurrection à la mairie du XVIIe, à la tête de son groupe de FFI. Blessé au bras lors des affrontements il fut sommairement soigné puis retourna se battre. Le combattant devint un héros, gagnant le surnom de "lion noir du XVIIe", et le journaliste René Dunan put d'ailleurs insérer dans son ouvrage une partie d'entretien avec lui.
