This original book block (without tipped in map) has been bound in a recent black buckram cloth as the original, and the spine stampings also match the original stampings. - Mr. Downs came to Lebanon July 5, 1848, as a candidate for the pastorate of the Congregational Church. He was installed as pastor and served the Church for twenty-five years.
