Some small marks on the front and back, and spine is faded - lettering on spine is very faded. Corners and top of spine slightly crushed. The front free endpaper has an insert stuck in it: 'In grateful appreciation of eight years service as Commissioner of the Cardigan District 1936-1944'. Brown stain up the hinge on title page and on a few other pages where the stitching is exposed. Foxing on last few pages. Text is clean, with just the odd mark here and there. Binding is good. Beige cloth, backstrip & front cover titles and front cover illustration in blue. Rear cover with tan spot-stain of diameter up to 1cm close to upper outer corner. No dust jacket. One leaf of text - pages 7/8 - with closed tear of length 6.5cm from fore-edge, over which on page 7 a selotape strip of width 1cm; the usual selotape discolouration on page 7 affecting margin and final two words of one line of text, effects overleaf almost negligible. Edges of text-block a little toned, top edge also a little dust-marked. Generally clean and tight. GOOD copy.

The pages are in a very good condition, with black and white pictorial illustrations/pencil drawings throughout. There is slight spotting on the top of the page ends. There is only the front half and flap of the jacket remaining. The back isn't with the book. Noted as poor due to this. The overall condition is very good.
