D'Ooge (1839-1915), professor of Greek at the University of Michigan for more than forty years and Director of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens in 1886-87, treats the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheum in detail, follows Pausanias's tour of the summit, and adds appendices on the ancient sources, the Pelargicon, and the Old Temple of Athena.
