This collection of their addressed envelopes (all with various town cancels dating from 1936-1944) offers the ability to trace mobile Albertan mining families - and some of the connections they made, while working in this important wartime trade. Envelopes only, no letters. 34 envelopes and 1 postally unused postcard of the Frank Slide, all variously toned w. soil, staining and tears. A coal mining town, Frank is infamous for the 1903 Frank Slide, which destroyed much of the mine, several businesses and houses, killing 70-90 people.
