Ex-library, super octavo, brown buckram boards, white lettering to spine, blind decorative rule to boards, lxv + 559pp + 24pp adverts, VG- (usual library markings, spine rebound with light brown buckram, heavy chafing to board edges with some surface loss, moderate scuffing to boards, moderate tanning to page edges, repairs to gutters with material, moderate glue blob residue to front pastedown, owner's name in ink to full title page).

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. New edition. 8vo. Pp lxv, 559, 24-page publisher's list dated January 1882. Original cloth, lettered gilt to spine. There is wear, with small tears, to the top and bottom of the spine. Corners bruised and a small stain to the rear board. Inner front hinge cracked but secure. Foxing to endpapers and preliminaries but internally clean and sound. There are occasional pencilled translations.
