While the inorganic scintillator has pronouncedresponse to thermal neutrons, the boron loaded plastic scintillator isquite sufficient for detecting signals due to both fast and thermalneutrons, as well as gamma rays. The plastic scintillator can be used inmixed beam dosimetry for fast neutrons, thermal neutrons, andphotons using pulse height analysis. Its fast response is suitablefor making real time dose measurements as well.
