Unlike the copy noted in Spear, this copy does not have Bailey's Washington Almanac bound at the back. Includes the interesting diagram/map showing the wards of Philadelphia. 19x21.5 cm. Outline color. Folding map of New York State, lacking folder and flattened. Trimmed close to border. Robert De Silver published maps in the early 1820's, usually as small pocket maps. Many of his maps had no identifying elements but are identifiable by their style which was reminiscent of maps of the 1790's and early 1800's such as those from Scott's Gazetteer and Carey's Pocket Atlas. The Erie Canal is identified.

Boards are worn and stained. Appears to be missing one leaf from the preliminary advts. The first advt. present has repair to the inner margin with some loss of text. Closed tear to "Robinson Crusoe" advertising leaf. Minor toning to the directory. Almanac at the rear is more heavily foxed. A very good copy. Spear, p.282. Drake 11820. American Imprint 12142. Containing numerous illustrated advertisements, including one for the "Robinson Crusoe Hotel," which features a woodcut of Crusoe in a fur outfit and sun hat. The almanac contains, among various other items, a Jewish calendar and a four-page directory of masonic lodges in Pennsylvania.
