Hardcover. Condition: Used; Good. This wonderful vintage biography can take pride of place within any library! J.M. Barrie was well renowned for having a life filled with as much adventure as his books! As Dennis Mackail writes in the first chapter. - Self-concious? there has never been anyone so self-concious, in the sense that still and always he is watching to see what he will do next. But not in the sense that he mistrusts himself. He doesn't, and there would be very little reason for it if he did. That famous shyness isn't, from our point of view, entirely a legend. The outward signs are there, often enough. Often enough it is a part of the performance that he should pretend to play up to them. But underneath as JMB still studies JMB - by thunder there's no feeling of inferiority! - truly an intriguing way to begin this excellent book! A fine addition to any collection. Title: The Story of J.M. Barrie Author: Dennis Mackail Publisher: Peter Davis Publication Date: 1941 Format: Hardcover Condition: This book is in a good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear. The covers are worn and have markings. There is a small inscription. The pages are yellowing.
