Many of their buildings were of a totally new kind, and others posed novel problems of construction. Style and technique united as the railways sought to combine the prestige and elegance of this new form of travel with crucial and imaginative innovations in engineering. This book is illustrated with over 200 black & white photographs. There is a ghost of a label on the fep and the residual of glue from a label on the front panel of the D/J. The D/J show s light wear to its edges and corners.
