Darras, cinquième édition, publiée à Paris chez Louis Vivès vers 1861. Il s'agit d'une grande synthèse historique catholique du XIXe siècle.…Les quatre tomes sont reliés en plein cuir ou basane, dos lisses titrés et décorés de fers dorés, offrant un bel aspect classique en bibliothèque. La cinquième édition témoigne du succès et de la large réception de cette somme historique.L'intérieur présente la mise en page soignée propre aux éditions Vivès, avec un texte dense, structuré par livres et chapitres, notes et références abondantes.L'ensemble est complet en quatre volumes. L'exemplaire se présente dans un état globalement acceptable pour son âge : les coiffes montrent une usure visible et l'on constate des frottements d'usage sur les plats et les mors, tandis que l'intérieur présente des rousseurs et quelques taches, caractéristiques des papiers de cette période. Cet ensemble relié offre néanmoins un très bel effet d'ensemble en rayonnage et conserve tout l'intérêt documentaire et historique de cette grande « Histoire générale de l'Église » signée de l'abbé Darras.
