Appendices. From the back cover: "In 1950, Daphne Charters who lived near the edge of a town in England began to see the fairies who lived in her neighborhood. Eventually Daphne became their good friend. Daphne had ongoing friendships with these fairies for forty years. Over the years Daphne worked with 34 individual fairies from two groups of nature fairies and one group of house fairies. The fairies told Daphne about their lives, their exploits, their work and their spiritual development. Daphne wrote it all down. The Collected Fairy Manuscripts of Daphne Charters are one of the great, fairy literary treasures of the twentieth century. Hitherto these manuscripts have been available to only a few. Daphne's writings offer one of the most intimate looks into the lives of the fairies available today." Daphne Charters was born in 1910 in Berkshire. She married during WWII and emigrated to Canada. Following her husband's death in a snowstorm, Daphne became interested in spiritualism and communicated with her dead husband. Back in England in the late 1940s, she wrote books about her experiences with fairies, including A True Fairy Tale [Fairy & Deva Communications; Spiritualist Lore] (Almoriss Press, London, 1956). Throughout her long life, despite health problems, she recorded her mediumistic experiences and bore witness to her familiar relationships and conversations with the fairies she unabashedly summoned into her garden. Vegetarian, she also operated the London boutique of Beauty Without Cruelty, a pioneer organization in the field of cosmetics free from animal ingredients. A very scarce and curious spiritualist tract expanding on Charters' earlier 1951 booklet, "The Origin, Life and Evolution of the Fairies," documenting her direct communication with fairies and devas in her garden. Includes a foreword by Dowding, notable for his post-war writings on psychic survival. This original edition rarely seen in the market and held by only two institutions in Worldcat records. VG-.
