SHE BECAME A CLOSE CONFIDENT OF SEVERAL U S PRESIDENTS WHO ASSISTED HER IN WORTHWHILE REFORMS OF THE POLITICAL AND JUDICIAL SYSTEMS FOR THE WORKING CLASS, IMPROVING THE WORKING CONDITIONS AND HEALTH CARE FOR CHILDREN AND WOMEN. THE BOOK IS A REVELATION OF THE POLITICAL AND SOCIAL INEQUALITY BETWEEN WOMEN AND MEN, THE WEALTHY AND POOR, AND THE IMMIGRANT POPULATIONS IN THE 19 TH AND EARLY 20 TH CENTURY.
