Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Burgundy cloth covers with blind stamped edges. Gold gilt lettering on spine and design on front cover are in fine condition. Gold gilt top page ends are in fine condition with very light soiling on front and bottom page ends. Light wear on bottom edges, spine ends and corners. Volume 2 has a scrape mark and small chip with fraying on its spine. Light soiling to spines of volumes three and four. Volume fours inside front cover hinge is shaken but still very firmly attached. Previous owners very nice bookplate is on the inside front cover of all volumes. Text is clean and unmarked. All hinges are tight except those previous noted. Volume One details life in Michigan when it was a province. Volume two details life in MIchigan as a territory. Volumes 3-4 detail life in Michigan as a state starting with the Constitutional Convention in 1867 through to the final chapter on Affairs in Michigan During the Civil War. Many b&w illustrations.
