Version im BVB. - Bedeutende offizielle Quelle als gedrucktes Originaldokument zu den Umständen der Mobilmachung im Kanton St. Gallen anlässlich des Sonderbundskrieges und deren juristische (strafrechtliche) Untersuchung und Aufarbeitung. - ?Am 18.10.1847 wurden die Verhandlungen der Tagsatzung wieder aufgenommen. Die Truppenaufgebote in der Innerschweiz beunruhigten die liberal-radikalen Nachbarkantone, worauf auch sie einige Bataillone in Stellung brachten. St. Gallen entschloss sich ebenfalls zu diesem Schritt, allerdings kam es dabei zu einem Aufruhr katholisch-konservativ gesinnter Milizen. Auf diese Geschehnisse reagierte die liberal-radikale Tagsatzungsmehrheit am 24. Oktober, indem sie 50'000 Mann zur Wiederherstellung von Ruhe und Ordnung aufbot.? (R. Roca, Sonderbund, Abschn. 3, Sonderbundskrieg, in: HLS). - ?Wir haben Ihnen mittelst Bericht vom 3. November und 20. Dezember vorigen Jahrs [1847] im Allgemeinen schon Kenntniß gegeben von den aufrührerischen Widersetzlichkeiten, welche bei den Militärversammlungen in den Gemeinden Bütschwil, Schmerikon, Gommiswald und Mels [.] stattgefunden haben. Seither sind 47 Privaten und Milizen, welche als Hauptschuldige zum Vorschein kamen, in den Spezialuntersuch gezogen worden. Die daherigen Prozeduren haben den traurigen Beweis geleistet, dass die berührten Aufstände von der ernstesten Natur waren, und dass es anscheinend bloss von Zufälligkeiten abgehangen, dass nicht ein schauderhaftes Unglück ausgebrochen ist und den ganzen Kanton ergriffen hat. [.] Wir werden zuerst die Vorfälle, wie sie in den genannten Gemeinden stattgefunden, aktengetreu erzählen, dann die Umstände angeben, welche dieselben veranlasst haben, hernach bei jedem Fehlbaren herausheben, inwieweit er sich betheiligt habe und was ihm zur Last liegt, und in der letzten Abtheilung endlich unsere Anträge stellen und begründen.? (1848, p. 3). - Das Dossier dokumentiert einlässlich und unter offener Nennung von Namen der involvierten Akteure die Meutereien und Unruhen im Kanton St. Gallen anlässlich der Mobilisation der eidgenössischen Armee gegen die Sonderbundskantone und deren Truppen, die anschliessende Untersuchung der Vorfälle und die darauf gründenden Anträge, sowie die Beschlüsse des Grossen Rates. (Vgl. ausführlicher dazu G. Thürer, St. Galler Geschichte, 2.1, 1972, Kap. 10, Der Stand St. Gallen als eidgenössischer Schicksalskanton 1847/48, bes. pp. 285?289, sowie E. Bucher, Die Geschichte des Sonderbundskrieges, 1966, pp. 115?119). - Historisch handelte es sich um zwar gravierende, trotzdem aber nur kurzfristig aufflackernde Ereignisse, die keine entscheidenden Auswirkungen zeitigten. So wird denn auch bei Thürer und Bucher vor allem deren Vorkommen relativ detailliert geschildert, die Folgen werden jedoch, bedingt durch die rasche und flexible Erledigung, kaum dokumentiert: ?Nun glätteten sich auch im Seebezirk die Wogen des Aufruhrs überraschend schnell. Die Furcht vor dem Einmarsch der Truppen aus den Nachbarständen [. bewirkte], dass die Eidesleistung ohne Zwischenfälle vor sich ging. [.] Der Kanton St. Gallen [.] schritt zur Verhaftung derer, die er als Aufrührer verdächtigte.? (etc.; Thürer, op. cit. p. 288; vgl. auch die punktuelle Erwähnung dieser Vorkommnisse bei E.
