Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Interior title: "The :Panorama of Cunard History. Over a Century in the Service of the Transatlantic Traveler." Oblong 8vo. (21 cm.) unpaged [36p. including wrappers]. Prosuely illusrated with 23 black and white captioned photos and several black and white drawing, including silhouettes of the different Cunard ships over the years. Stapled booklet in white wrappers decorated in red and black and with stylized vignettes of various Cunard ships. Just touches of wear to extremities, half-inch splits on the spine at top and bottom, rust on the staples, corners square and flat, all photos iin fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Photos and drawings are interspersed with narrative history about the Cunard Line. Just an amazing collection of photos documenting the variety and extent of the Cunard floating inventory. "It has been stated often that the history of the Cunard Line can be read as the history of transatlantic steam navigation. To trace during the past 115 years the development in size, speed and comfort of the Atlantic liner from wooden paddle steamer to quardruple-screw, thousand foot liner, one need seek no further than the story of the Cunard Line. [The] maiden voyage departure [of Britannia, the first Cunard liner] from Liverpool on July 4th, 1840, setting in motion the first regular Atlantic steamship line, sprang from the foresight of Samuel Cunard, merchant and shipowner of Halifax, Nova Scotia." [from the first page of narrative].
