United States Senator from Alabama James Browning Allen (1912-1978) was in office from January 3, 1969 to June 1, 1978 which provides a time frame for the print. James Allen passed away from a heart attack in office and was succeeded by his wife Maryon Pittman Allen (1925-2018) who was appointed by Alabama Governor George Wallace. Maryon Allen held the office from June 8, 1978 to November 7, 1978 but lost a special election. Photo was acquired directly from the estate of Maryon Allen.
