A sound copy. 21 x 15.5 cm, A 1942 Japanese translation of the well known book, Classing the Clip , by an Australian expert, C. E. Cowley. The original book was published in 1928. This illustrated book also contains additional material provided by Kanematsu Gosho, the main Japanese trading house engaged in the wool trade with Australia. Contemporary situations in each state is described briefly in the text. In the Japanese forewords, Kurashige Kiyohisa, an executive of Kanematsu Gosho, mentions the importance of studying Australian wool industry and wool classing as the Pacific War has broken out. He points out that, in spite of substantial amount of wool produced in Manchuria, they are not suitable for textile fabric. Thus, according to him, in order to develop the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, it is important to understand how the wool is grown, classed and processed in Australia.
