Comprising The Lay of the Last Minstrel; Marmion; The Lady of the Lake; Vision of Don Roderick; Rokeby; The Bridal of Triermain; The Lord of the Isles; Ballads, Songs, and Lyrical Pieces. A New Edition, with Eight Illustrations By Corbould. 740 pages.-- Condition:-- Small stain to the front inner hinge, a little foxing to the first endpps; the front & rear inner hinges are slightly cracked (the rear a little more) but binding is still firm. Text is quite clean. A very good reading copy. Includes 8 illustrations complete with tissue. Bound in decorative blue cloth with blindstamping and gilding, the page edges richly gilded. PROVENANCE-- Early inscription, possibly 'M.M. to his nephew, William Daniel Moore.' This may just be the highly regarded translator of a couple medical works, b 1813 - d 1871. Size: 12mo - over 6ž" - 7ž" tall.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Illustrated by Corbould (illustrator). Beautiful illustrated edition of Sir Walter Scott's Poetical Works. Illustrated by Corbould. A memoir of Sir Walter Scott included and dated with 1857. Green boards that are beveled on the edges and have some wear (see pictures. The design on the front and the spine is embossed and printed in black and gilt. Gilt is fading slightly. Head and tale of the spine is fraying slightly and tender. Back is embossed only. The edges of the text block are gilt and have some dulling and a few defects. Front/back hinges are partially cracked, but binding is holding. Text block and inside covers have some foxing. No marks of previous ownership of inscription. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 740 pages.
