Volume: 1 24x16 cm., in brossura, pp. 315 (4), quasi tutte ancora intonse, in antiporta ritratto di Sella, prima edizione, in italiano, piccole lacerazioni e mancanze al dorso, ma buon esemplare.

Condition: molto buono. In folio oblungo (mm. 448x320), ben legato in mezza pelle marrone e angoli, piatti ricoperti di carta verde ed incorniciati da una bordura dorata, tagli gialli. Abili piccoli restauri alla legatura. Qualche lieve fioritura sparsa ma esemplare marginoso. Cc. [6] e 31 tavole incise, di cui 2 ripiegate, e 30 tavole esplicative che precedono ogni illustrazione (i due carri diurni del comune di Reggio sono descritti nello stesso testo). Prima ed unica edizione delle feste organizzate a Reggio Emilia per celebrare, nel maggio del 1842, le nozze del futuro Duca di Modena Francesco V d'Este e Adelgonda di Baviera, che si erano uniti in matrimonio nel marzo di quell'anno.La raccolta si divide in due parti,   entrambe si aprono con un titolo di sezione: una dedicata ai ?Carri e apparati notturni?, l'altra ai ?Carri e apparati diurni? I festeggiamenti prevedevano scenografie, abbellimenti di edifici pubblici e sfilate di carri, tra cui uno rappresentante la comunità ebraica ed uno personale, raffigurante un drago, appartenente ad uno dei due autori di questo libro, Luigi Corbelli. Oltre ai carri del comune di Reggio, tutti i comuni vicini avevano inviato per l'occasione il loro carro in città: Correggio, Scandiano, Castelnovo di sotto, Novellara, Montecchio, ecc.  . Book.

Oblong folio (304 x 430 mm), contemporary boards covered in cloth, printed title on paper label pasted at centre of upper cover, the spine carefully renewed in brown calf, inside a clean copy in good condition (light foxing). Titlepage within typographical border ff. 36 + 31 engraved plates (2 folding). First edition of this rare book published to celebrate the wedding of Francesco V d'Este, Duke of Modena, and Adelgonda Caroline of Bavaria, in March 1842. In April the couple had moved to Modena, and in May the city celebrated the event setting up scenographies and embellishing public buildings, with great parades of chariots going both day and night, including one representing the Jewish community, and also a personal one belonging to the author of this book, Corbelli, depicting a dragon. The book is divided into two sections, showing the chariots for the night and the day, illustrating the themes of the show, ranging from those allegorical-seasonal, to mythological subjects, also illustrating the decorations realized for the facades of some buildings.
