Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book analyzes a niche school of photography and printing that emerged in the early 20th century. The artists of this sub-genre took the then-new and widely available mediums of photography and printing and elevated them to high art by introducing subjective, handcrafted elements to their work. This book explores the techniques of photography, focusing on technical choices and their impact on the final piece of art. The author also discusses the materiality of pigment, suggesting that a work of art's physicality and aesthetic impact are inseparable. This book has particular interest for advanced photographers seeking a deep dive into the history, techniques, and aesthetics of this unique sub-genre of photography and art. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Edition originale. Exemplaire en EXCELLENT ETAT.
