On peut donc le mettre en liberté () Je ne la demande point au ministre de la police parce que je ne lai pas sollicité de len priver () je désire quil ne soufre pas dun vol dont je ne le crois pas complice, et dont je naccuse que Lieutaud.Siméon est aussi député au conseil des Cinq-cents, ministre de lIntérieur et de la Justice de Jérôme Bonaparte, et ministre de lIntérieur dans le Cabinet Villèle.Un an avant cette lettre, en 1807, Siméon avait été nommé lun des trois commissaires, chargés dorganiser le royaume de Westphalie. Jérôme Bonaparte lui donna alors les portefeuilles de lIntérieur et de la Justice.
