Pebble-grain blue cloth lettered in gilt on the front cover; cloth lightly marked, boards slightly bowed; endpapers…discoloured; a very good copy (internally fine). Loosely inserted are two typed personal references (each one page quarto) for Miss Leonore E. Roach, a longstanding former local public servant about to embark on a tour of Australia. The letters, on official letterheads, are signed by the Premier of SA, Thomas Playford (25 October 1961), and by the Clerk of the House of Assembly (and the author of this book), G.D. Combe (18 June 1971). Both letters are folded for posting, otherwise they are in excellent condition. A vintage photograph (160 × 215 mm) of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II inspecting the Fijian Guard of Honor at Suva, Fiji, in December 1953 is also loosely inserted. [5 items]. Signed.
