8vo, blue cloth with gilt title on top cover and spine, illustrated, 239 pp. Spine sunned and faded, a little extremity and binding wear, slight aging, pencil signature on front end paper; otherwise very good plus. This attractive little guidebook tells the tourist everything they may want to know about traveling along the Hudson in the 1870s. In various chapters Colt takes the reader from New York City to Irvington, West Point, Albany, Cooperstown, Troy and Lake George. She also dedicates a chapter to Buffalo and Niagara. The author also includes a short chapter on "Hints for Travelers." that includes remedies for seasickness, dealing with mosquitoes, the benefits of a waterproof cloak, and the use of cologne to help you stay cool.
