Profusely illustrated with drawings, plates and some photogaphs, 534 pages, colored folding map bound in a rear. This copy bears the bookplates of Thos. Ayscough Hodgkinson a member of the Royal Society of Arts and J.R. McMicking who formed the first venture capital firm in California and funded the development of Ampex Corporation. In addition tipped in is the ex-libris of the Pacific-Union Club of San Francisco a private social club with some very prominent members, it was founded in 1889 and is still in operation today. Clean and tightly bound, boards slightly bowed, some minor dings and wear at the edges of boards, a unique copy.
