Store description

The Dyfi Valley Bookshop was established by Barbara Beeby in 1988 in a conservation area of the ancient market town of Machynlleth, mid-Wales. It has a relaxing atmosphere, a wood burner in winter, and a friendly black labrador, Lochie. We have a large general stock in addition to the specialist subject matter listed on this page. The town itself is very attractive and well worth a visit, situated as it is in the lovely valley of the river Dyfi (Dovey) which runs through the hills to the Irish Sea at Aberdyfi nine miles away. Owain Glyndwr established the first Welsh parliament here in 1404, and the building still stands. Why not pay us a visit? You won't regret it.
