A printed poster loudly proc…laiming "Cuba: No Al Bloqueo" or "Cuba: No To The Blockade" with eight stamps celebrating the 25th anniversary of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara's capture by U.S. backed Bolivian soldiers at bottom and further embellished with stamps and stickers of an anti United States, anti-war, anti-corporate, etc nature. Perhaps produced to accompany an exhibition atGalería Correo Viejo in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1992. A Uruguayan artist, poet, and publisher, Padin edited the influential literary magazines Los Huevos del PlataandOVUM 10 which put him in contact with the international avant garde. A participant in mail art, his artistic and political endeavors landed him in jail in the late '70s and surveilled upon release til the mid '80s, deemed a threat by Uruguay's military dictatorship. Variant artists' book by Clemente Padín featuring an hommage to Joseph Beuys' 1972 iconic photograph 'LA RIVOLUZIONE SIAMO NOI' in the form of alternate montages, including a detail photo of a fascis…t policeman, the pope, a chair, a man in a suit without a face, and Adam & Eve among other depictions. This is the 1976 edition published by Klaus Groh at I.A.C. Central Office, who also reissued another edition in 1994 with a slightly different cover design. Edition Staeck published an earlier edition in 1974 and then seemingly another edition in 1986, both with a slightly different cover design and image sequencing supposedly. Artifact Vibration Standard Score: 7.3. Trace amounts of age toning and rubbing to covers, including a miniscule stain at lower back cover. Very good or better.
