Je ne cesserai donc de discuter avec Hemingway les raisons de ce triste lendemain de fete, je ne cesserai de comparer le Paris dans lequel il a vecu avec le mien. Le constat est accablant: Paris n'est vraiment plus une fete. La raison ? Peut-etre reside-t-elle dans la psychologie des hommes plus que dans tout le reste, notamment des hommes politiques - le terme psychologie devant etre compris dans son sens premier, celui de discours sur l'ame .
