Small, round, faint clear-embossed stamp of the Colorado College Library to upper right corner of front cover; issue previously, but lightly, folded. Containing articles and Ethical Movement news, the articles are: A World Morally Out of Joint by Felix Adler; Are Private Schools Compatible with Democracy? by Henry Neumann; Safeguards of Democracy by J.A. Hobson; The Larger Fellowship: An Ethical Tract for the Times by Percival Chubb; and A New Brand of Trade Unionist Self-Help by David Scott Hanchett. With lengthy Letter to the Editor from John Haynes Holmes on the topic "The Community Church and the Ethical Movement." Felix Adler (1851-1933) was a social reformer and rationalist who founded the Society of Ethical Culture in 1877 and the American Ethical Union in 1889; Henry Neumann (1882-1966) became leader of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture in 1911 and was one of the editors of The Standard (later The Ethical Outlook); J.A. (John) Hobson (1858-1940) was an English economist and social scientist; Percival Ashley Chubb (1860-1959) was a founding member of the Fabian Society in 1884, associate leader of the Society for Ethical Culture from 1897-1910, and President of the American Ethical Union from 1934-39.
