Morphologie dieser Familie zusammenfaßt. Die Herbeischaffung des Materials macht mir aber ungemein viel Schwierigkeiten, selbst für manche deutsche Gattungen, u. ich bin daher auf den Beistand Anderer außerordentlich hingewiesen [.] Saamen seltener Cruciferen, um sie zu kultiviren, Früchte oder getrocknete Exemplare nicht ganz verbreiteter oder Varietäten u. Monstrositäten gewöhnlicher, werden mir sehr willkommen sein. So erlaube ich mir Sie ganz ergebenst um Saamen u. wo möglich um ein getrocknetes Exemplar ihrer Makaria polyantha zu bitten. Auch frage ich an, ob Sie je Früchte von Cochlearia Armoracia [d. i. Meerrettich] gesehen haben, oder selbige besitzen, in welchem letzteren Fall ich Sie leihweise darum bitten würde. Ich habe mich vergebens, wie auch Herr Prof. Braun, bemüht die Früchte dieser Pflanze zu erhalten; sie scheint in Deutschland nicht Frucht zu tragen u. ich habe noch keinen Menschen gesehen, der sie gesehen hat.
