No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Approx 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches tall, photograph of a ink or engraved portrait after James Charles Armytage, executed ca. 1838, with albumen print of that image pasted down to card with gilt borders at recto, clipped corners, and logo to verso (moderate wear and soiling, image bears a few small spots, pencil notation to verso, else very good). Scottish satirical writer, free thinker, coined the term "the dismal science" refering to economics, wrote a famous piece using as a voice a fictional biggot reporter "Phelin M'Quirk" which raised ire and thus discussion on slavery and indentured servitude published in 1849. John Stuart Mill responded with his piece "The Negro Question." His written works comprise approx 30-40 volumes, depending on the publisher, including his History of the French Revolution.

Laat-gotische huis aan de Oude Delft 167, gebouwd in 1505. De eerste eigenaar was Jan de Huyter, de schout van Delft en baljuw van Delfland. Hij was ook pachter van accijns op hop.
