Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Special signed edition of 250. Alice Through the Looking Glass, featuring illustrations by famed pop artist Peter Blake. Originally commissioned for a cancelled edition of Carroll's two Alice books (the other to be illustrated by Graham Ovenden), these were instead released as limited-edition silkscreen prints. For his subject as Alice, he chose the daughter of a friend Amelia Gatacre with William Gatacre serving as Hatter, and Amelia and her sister as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Blake s silkscreens are reproduced herein alongside the main prose of Through the Looking Glass, as fold-out sheets. Pages are exceptionally tight and bright, with some light staining to the blue boards. This book has likely not been read. Signed by Illustrator(s).
