Cloth. Condition: Very Good binding. Folio. [6], [17]-432, [417]-464, 497-512 pp., illus. First edition. Rebound in imitation leather with the original cloth mounted on the front board and spine. the pagination is erratic, but the book appears to be complete, at least in attempts to collate against a digital version in which the pagination differs and is erratic in its own way, the final narrative portion of the book is complete. The first 432 pages has continuous pagination after three leaves of frontmatter. The binding is quite nice and because of it, this is a book one can leaf through, not always the case as this textblock is heavy and this is more often than not found in very rough condition. Here there are a few leaves with small closed tears; even toning throughout; the dedication leaf at the beginning has had repair to the edges. A remarkable collection of illustrations related to the Civil War.
