Docteur en droit de la Faculté de Paris, étudiant a Heidelberg et a Florence. Combattant de la Grande Guerre, blesse, médaillé militaire.…Fonde la Revue de France en 1921, avec Marcel Prevost, les Editions de France en 1923 et, enfin, Gringoire en 1928. Adapte au théâtre des pièces anglaises, notamment Pluie, de Somerset Maugham, et le Procès de Mary Dugan Frappé par la décadence de la IIIe République, et se rendant compte que les dirigeants mènent la France à Ia catastrophe, Horace de Carbuccia se consacre entièrement, à partir de 1932, à dénoncer les scandales et les menaces qui s'accumulent. Gringoire devient alors le plus grand hebdomadaire politique et littéraire de l'histoire de la presse française.
