Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Turn chemical engineering principles into a coherent, buildable plant design.A design project rarely fails because one equation is missing. It fails when balances, thermodynamics, equipment, controls, safety, layout, utilities, and economics do not agree. Chemical Engineering Design provides an integrated path from the first design need through front-end engineering, commissioning, and performance testing.Written for chemical and biochemical engineering students, early-career process engineers, and practitioners who need a structured reference, this 2026 edition develops calculations from stated assumptions and keeps units visible. Worked examples cover material and energy balances, hydraulic networks, heat exchangers, equilibrium separations, distillation, reactors, bioprocess equipment, process control, relief systems, materials selection, equipment specification, plot planning, utility integration, capital cost, and discounted cash flow.Inside you will find: More than fifty worked design examples with final numerical answersPractice problems and answers in every chapterThirty-six technical figures linking equations to equipment and flowsheetsDecision tables for property methods, separations, materials, utilities, and procurementSafety analysis integrated with inherently safer design, HAZOP, relief, and flare decisionsA complete FEED workflow joining technical deliverables, cost, schedule, and startup readinessThe chapters build progressively, so readers can follow a complete course or enter at the calculation needed for a current project. The result is a practical design companion for converting process concepts into traceable engineering decisions. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability. …
