In the history of the Old West the name Slade is synonymous with all that is infamous and cruel. Yet Slade is also credited with efficiently organizing and managing the Overland stage route and clearing its way of desperadoes. A born leader of men who became a demon when drunk, a man who inspired deep passions and loyalty in those who knew him.
