A comprehensive early monograph on the use of X-rays in medicine, published less than a decade after their discovery by Wilhelm Röntgen in 1895. It is divided into two parts, 'X-Ray Apparatus and its use in Diagnosis' and 'The Therapeutic Application of X-Rays'. The irregular pagination at the beginning of the book comprises a blank leaf and the title leaf (both unnumbered), followed by the first page of the list of contents, numbered 7. This copy is undisturbed in its original binding and is presumably as issued.
