The monthly periodical specialised in speculative literature, left-leaning political discussion and the arts. Notably, it was the first British periodical to publish a crossword puzzle, which it did so in February 1922. Contributors to the magazine included George Bernard Shaw, Upton Sinclair and Phillips Oppenheim, among many more. These volumes feature texts like H. G.
