In quarter calf with cloth covered boards. Externally, generally smart with rubbing to the spines, especially to the head and tail. Some rubbing to the extremities and marks to the boards. Sheridan is widely recognised for being the long-term owner of the London Theatre Royal. With a bookplate for one 'D. D. Couche' to the front free endpaper and the previous owner's ink signature, dated 1880, to the front blanks. Uniformly bound in full calf with gilt detail. Externally, very smart with some rubbing to the extremities and a few light marks to the boards. Some fading to the spines. Small mark to the bottom of the front paste-down in volume one. Bookplates to the front free endpapers of both volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot, slightly heavier towards the front and rear of the books. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front blank of both volumes. Slight age-toning to the edges. Very Good Indeed. book.
