Guy Patin (1602-1672), französischer Arzt Heilkundiger und königlicher Medicus, Doktor der Medizin und der Philosophie, Professor der Medizin in Paris und Padua, galt als einer der belesensten Menschen seiner Zeit mit überragendem Gedächtnis, publizierte Dichtungen, philosophische Briefe und Streitgespräche, eine Abhandlung über die Pest, seine Privatbibliothek soll mehr als 15000 Bücher umfasst haben, 1666 wegen Schwarzhandels mit verbotenen Büchern zusammen mit seinem Sohn verhaftet ; Johann Friedrich Schmidt (1730-1785 aktiv), deutscher Kupferstecher und Portraitist, überwiegend in Nürnberg, ab etwa 1785 in St. Petersburg

Andreae, Johann Gerhard Reinhard (1724 Hannover - 1793 ebd.). Deutscher Naturforscher, Chemiker und Hofapotheker in Hannover. 1744 in Berlin Studium der Pharmazie, Geologie und Chemie, bis 1746 als reisender Pharmazeut tätig, danach Studium in Blankenburg und Leyden. 1747 Übernahme der elterlichen Hirsch-Apotheke. 1753 Aufenthalt in Frankfurt/Main. Im Auftrage des Kurfürsten von Hannover untersuchte er um 1765 bis 1769 bei Hannover eine beträchtliche Anzahl Erdarten und ihren Gebrauch für die Landwirtschaft. Seine Alchemistischen Briefe von 1767 enthalten pharmazeutisch interessante Vorschriften. Er leistete Vorarbeiten für das erste amtliche Arzneibuch in Braunschweig, das Dispensatorium Brunsvicense von 1777. Seit 1776 war er Mitglied der Erfurter Akademie gemeinnütziger Wissenschaften.
