Third in Cassell's Handcraft Library series "Furniture Making" was first published in 1915 with reprints in 1919, '20, '23 and this in 1925. The book presents designs, working drawings and detail instructions for the construction of 170 pieces of furniture, ranging from bookshelves to clockcases, settees, armchairs and tables --- 23 differing catagories, accompanies by almost 1100 illustrations. Designs cover the complex and elegant to the simple and practical and the illustrations reveal how dramatically furnishing fashions have changed over almost a century, while some things stay much the same. 407 pages including index, b/w photos, plans and diagrams throughout. Dark green hard covers with impressed decorations, gilt front and spine titles VG with light fading top front board, slight wear spine extremities, front hinge top and lower (1.5cm top, few cm lower), dealer stamp lower right front pastedown, former owner oval stamp centre FFEP, no inscriptions and text block otherwise VG with dark stain top corner last few pages but no intrusion text/illustrations, oval stamp repeated back pastedown. Weighs 1kg.
