Add to basketFirst Edition. Poor small format copy in the original gilt-blocked blue cloth boards, now dust-toned and damp-stained. Rear hinge broken, with the front starting. Panel edges worn; joints and endbands rubbed. Text shows scattered light foxing and dust-dulling throughout, with some ink marks on the earlier leaves. Colour plates collated and strong overall, though the frontispiece shows the aforementioned ink marks marginally, with the image unaffected. Despite faults, a complete and very serviceable example. Physical description; 238 pages : colour illustrations ; 14 cm. Notes; Originally published in 1786 under the title Fabulous Histories, designed for the Instruction of Children, respecting the treatment of Animals. Later known as The History of the Robins.
