A group of poets belonging to the generation of 40 - César Fernández Moreno, León Benarós, Alberto Ponce de León, led by Dora S. de Boneo - give life in the middle of spring to a "common and representative body of poets and writers of our promotion and not only of these, but of all those who, for reasons of personal coexistence or purely ethical incentives, feel obliged to our movement. " This is El 40, a magazine that for two years, through six issues, fulfilled the mission of reaffirming the foundations of the generational claim of this group. Most of the names of the basic group, already made in their possibilities, gave the magazine a hierarchy that places it among the most significant of those initial years of the decade: César Rosales, Juan Rodolfo Wilcock, León Benarós, María Granata, César Fernández Moreno, José María, Castiñeira de Dios, Eduardo A.
