Jerónimo de Blancas (Zaragoza ¿? - 1590), estudió en la Universidad de Zaragoza, donde llegó a adquirir cierta fama como latinista e historiador. En 1581 fue nombrado para suceder a Gerónimo Zurita en el puesto de cronista oficial del reino. Autor de diversas obras históricas. Su obra más conocida son los Aragonensium rerum commentarii, aparecidos en Zaragoza en 1588, donde sobre una supuesta crónica del monasterio ribagorzano de San Pedro de Taberna Buscar voz. y seis leyes latinas de Sobrarbe que el propio Blancas redactó, trataba de explicar el origen de la magistratura del Justicia aragonés; además, recoge una biografía de cuarenta y nueve titulares del cargo, desde Pedro Jiménez al citado Juan de Lanuza IV 35 X 26 cm.
