His two-volume report in 1822 - 1823 generated considerable controversy, and has been considered as the major issue for the future development of the Australian colonies. The ISBN 0855610271 applies to the 2-volume set: Volume 1: The Oral Evidence [and] Volume 2: The Written Evidence. The editor, Dr John Ritchie, a lecturer in history at the Australian National University (ANU), also wrote a revealing background report about Commissioner Bigge called 'Punishment and Profit' (based on his ANU PhD thesis).

A letter asking Tudor- Craig to attend a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee on Petitions. Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur John Bigge, 1st Baron Stamfordham, 1849 -1931 was a British Army officer and courtier. He was Private Secretary to Queen Victoria during the last few years of her reign, and to George V during most of his reign. He was the maternal grandfather of Lord Adeane, Private Secretary to Elizabeth II from 1953 to 1972. Major Sir Algernon Tudor-Craig 1873-1943 was a British Army officer, heraldist and author of various works on art history, especially armorial porcelain. Tudor-Craig was an officer in the 4th (militia) battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles. He served as Instructor of Musketry with the 8th Provisional Battalion in 1902. From an album of his letters.
