Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 3rd Edition. A 7-1/2-inch 12mo in original. blind-stamped, brown cloth-covered boards. (Oval, foliate borders to centers of both boards, with what may have been representations of grape clusters blind-stamped to corners.) Gilt titles still clear to spine, though a Dewey Decimal number has also been penned there in white ink, and an inch-and-a-half vertical strip is missing from this spine covering. No visible edge stampings, but this is an ex-library copy, with bookplate of the Public Library of the Town of Beverly (Mass.) affixed to front pastedown (library founded 1855), noting this book was a gift of William Endicott, Jr. (Boston attorney and civic leader, 1865-1941) , received 2/1924. Another library attachment -- probably a manila card-holder -- has been removed from the Rear paste-down. There is some modest brown spotting (foxing) to the text pages, more noticeable at the extremities, though never interfering with legibility. Author was the sister of Harriet Beecher Stowe. 382 pp. including Glossary and Index, though pages of Index are not numbered. Reduced from $275.
