Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The Mansel Diaries The Diaries of Captain John Mansel POW and camp forger in Germany !940 - 1945, 156 pages. Red cloth on board with gilt lettering to the spine. The cover is in near fine condition . In price clipped dust jacket which is a little dusty but in general very good. Internally Inscribed by John Mansel's daughter to Peter Harrison dated 1989 many copies of drawings of camps and camp life. At the back of the book there is a 3 page list of all the prisoners of war listed in the diaries and a map of the prisoner of war camps listed in the text. John Mansel was at several of the best known POW camps and was known as the master forger.

This copy is in very good plus, unmarked condition bound in blue pebbled cloth covered boards with bright gilt titling and heraldic device to the upper board. The spine is sunned. This copy is bright, tight, white and square. The page edges are uncut. A dustwrapper is not called for. The Imperial Service College (ISC) was an English independent school based in Windsor, originally known as St. Mark's School when it was founded in 1845. In 1942, it merged with Haileybury to form Haileybury and Imperial Service College. ISC had itself previously absorbed the United Services College. During the 1950s part of the site was the home of The Royal Horse Guards Light Aid Detachment Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (LAD REME RHG) while Kipling Memorial Building (1939) was used by the local council, the Royal Borough of New Windsor.
