The author is most famous as the Victorian doctor who 'discovered' and treated THE ELEPHANT MAN , John Merrick, a story made famous in the Hollywood Movie starring Anthony Hopkins as Treves himself. 315 pages Published in 1921 this is a second impression form 1926 and is in goioid clean order,foxing to the edge of the pages , an inscription "Far from the madding crowd.
