Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Pair of RCA Victor "Red Seal" 10-inch, 78 rpm shellac (we presume) records in original cardboard album, discs 10-1412 and 10-1413, near-mint records in a very-good cardboard jacket with some modest soiling and rub to corners. The Cantata was featured… in the short-lived 1942 patriotic Broadway review "Of V We Sing." The show ran two months, closed, and the piece slipped into obscurity until revived by Merrill (of the Metropolitan Opera, but nonetheless a Dodgers fan), here, in 1948. George Kleinsinger (1914-1982) is better known as the co-author (along with Paul Tripp) of "Tubby the Tuba." Reduced from $75.

Contact seller5-star sellerCondition: Good. - Close of a letter on a piece of blue paper, approximately 2 inches high by 4-1/4 inches high, which has been mounted on a piece of cream-colored paper of the same size. Boldly signed in black ink "Sincerely Yours / David Bispham". The blue paper is rippled from the mounting and the letter "D" in David smudged.… Good. American operatic baritone David Bispham [1857-1921] appeared in numerous musical performances in his childhood despite having no formal music training. At the age of twenty-eight he went to Europe and studied singing in Florence, Milan and Bayreuth. He was selected to take part in a London performance of Messager's "La Basoche", his first professional appearance on any stage. This led to his singing the role of Kurwenal in Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde", under Gustav Mahler, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden--his first Wagner role. For all but two of the next ten seasons he appeared at Covent Garden, mainly in Wagnerian roles. He made his American debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City in 1896, singing the role of Beckmesser in "Die Meistersinger". He remained with the Met until 1903.

He hopes this will not involve an 'evening session', as that Sunday 'will be the first break from performance of the show or rehearsals [.] it would be nice to feel that the evening at least is for jollification [.] it will be both ann honour and a pleasure to be in the company of the Gallery First Nighters' Club on that evening'. There are light stains & tiny black marks to the edges of the note paper.…There are glue stains on the verso where the paper has been removed from an album. Good. American operatic baritone David Bispham [1857-1921] was born in Philadelphia and studied singing in Florence, Milan and Bayreuth. He made his American debut at New York City's Metropolitan Opera in 1896 and remained there until 1903, again appearing mainly in Wagnerian roles.
